Susan became interested in financial planning and investing soon after college while developing portfolio management software for an investment company in Baltimore, MD. She has practiced wealth management professionally for over ten years in North Carolina and serves clients throughout the United States. She is proud to have been able to help clients navigate through the 2008-2009 financial crisis and is honored to work with multiple generations of families.
Susan holds the internationally-recognized professional CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. She is also securities registered, insurance licensed, and an Investment Adviser Representative serving individuals and businesses in a fiduciary capacity. Her professional memberships include The Society of Financial Services Professionals and The Financial Planning Association where she co-hosts the Business Success Knowledge Circle, facilitating discussion and idea sharing among independent CFP® professionals world-wide.
Born in Virginia to a military family, Susan grew up traveling the world. She graduated magna cum laude from Towson University in Maryland in 1986. She and her family moved to Greensboro in 2000 and have enjoyed making it their home. Outside of work, Susan serves on the Community Life Commission of St. Pius X Catholic Church and mentors youth through the Communities in Schools’ African American Male Initiative. She and her family enjoy trail running and racing. The Rizzis have supported retired racing greyhound rescue for over 30 years. Their 6th retired racer, Vicky, keeps the family moving.
